Use Google Maps Without Data Connectivity With Cache Map Data


Going on a trip up north, knowing there would be no data connectivity and at some point in time access to Google Maps would be required. The new updated Google Maps come with the option of pre-cache’ing map area. It allows users to pre-select a map area so when there is no data connectivity, Google Maps would keep on running for that selected Map area.

First of all, navigate to Google Maps and get into Settings. Tap Labs and enable Precache map area. Navigate to required area on Google Maps or Places, tap and select Precache Map Area. It will download required Map Cache. Now once your devices goes out of data service, maps would be available to navigate through.
