Android-Based Motorola Defy Arrives In India

Motorola has announced its latest device in India named as Motorola Defy. It runs on Google’s Android 2.1 Éclair OS with 800 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 3610 processor.  With great build quality, Defy claims to be dust proof and water-resistant. This device is one step forward from the Moto Stable.

The specifications of this Smartphone are as follows:

  • Display

The screen is made of Gorilla glass with a 3.7 inch capacitive touch screen that supports a 480×854 pixel resolution.

  • Storage

It has 512 MB Ram and 2GB storage that can be extended to 32 GB using a microSD card.

  • Camera

Defy gives you autofocus facility with 5 megapixel camera and LED flash. User can use images clicked from the camera in real-time. They can also record videos at 30fps.

  • Supporting features

Support is also available for Exchange 2003 and 2007 along with POP3/IMAP and mailing services like Yahoo! and Gmail along with other services such as Google Apps, Calendar and Talk. Users can also download apps from the Android Market.

  • Battery

It has a 1540 mAh battery that gives talk time up to6.8 hours and stand by time up to 10 days approximately.

  • General Features

Includes Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor and Social Network integration for Face book, Twitter, MySpace exists, WLAN, GPS, and Bluetooth. It supports 3G networks also.

  • User Interface

Incorporated with Motorola’s Moto Blur user interface

  • Digital Living Network Alliance

Defy is Digital Living network Alliance Certified.

  • Keyboard

Has a virtual QWERTY keyboard

It is available in Indian market for INR 18,500.
